We are sincerely inviting you to visit the Faina Petryakova Scientific Center for Jewish Art and Judaica. This institution is engaged in the researches of jewish history and culture in Ukraine. The Center was established on the 23rd of March in 2005 in Lviv and named in honor of Faina Petryakova known as outstanding researcher of Ukrainian glass, porcelain, ceramics and judaica items.
The purposes of this Center are: the revival of interest to the jewish history, culture, traditional Jewish Studies in Galicia and Ukraine in the west region of Ukraine, in the country and abroad; the promotion of the performing of researches in the field of spiritual and material culture of the Jews; the creation of the scientific and methodological structures whose activities would be aimed to conservation, scientific studies and popularization of the history and monuments of jewish culture in Ukraine; the providing of opportunities to study the Ukrainian porcelain and glass that activates the researches in these areas of Ukrainian art.
The Center helps the revival and preservation of the jewish cultural heritage in Ukraine as an important part of Ukrainian and world cultural heritage. The activities of Center contribute to raising of academic and cultural rank of the city enriching the cultural landscape of Ukraine and emphasizing its multinational character.
The Scientific Center is located in an apartment-museum of Professor, Doctor of Arts Faina Sergeevna Petryakova, Mendeleeva Str., 14/4, Lviv.
